The Career Counseling Center (STEP) has been operating at Doukas School since 1993. The Center follows modern perceptions on the issues of “career management” and is staffed by specialized counselors – psychologists in order to compose the psychological, emotional and educational profile of our students, so as to unleash their full potential and to plan with vision the future roles of their lives.
The services of the Department, which are based on an evolving and multidimensional approach and are constantly updated according to the new trends, start in the 3rd Grade of High School and are completed in the 3rd Grade of Senior High school and the International Baccalaureate
Parents have the opportunity to have individual counseling meetings with the advisors of the Department.
Students’ visits to university institutions, such as the National Technical University of Athens, the Athens University of Economics and Business etc., are also organized, while at the same time, comparative analyzes of the results in the Panhellenic Examinations and the IB Examinations are carried out.
In order that students get full information on the developments in the labor market and the new data, as they are formed, the Department organizes every year the Career Day. Important and distinguished speakers from the fields of Employment, Science, Arts and Letters are invited. The aim is for the students to get a realistic and thorough information about their main areas of interest.
A first contact with the real working environment is provided to the students who wish so by the Internships program. Through an integrated business network, students may work during summer on the subject-matter that they have chosen, gaining useful experiences for their professional future.
