According to the Learning Charter of our Educational Model, the Curriculum and the Interdisciplinary Unified Curriculum Framework, the learning objectives for Kindergarten are determined based on the developmental stages of children of this age and aiming at their readiness for school and their socio-emotional maturity.
We use pioneering methodologies, which are based on active, experiential, collaborative and exploratory learning. We emphasize on Interdisciplinarity, choosing a topic for discussion and elaboration from rich thematic sources and analyzing it in the light of many different cognitive objects (language, mathematics, English, music, art, physical education etc.).
The child’s socialization, creativity and expression are enhanced through play, as a tool for acquiring knowledge, in conjunction with the exploration, the experimentation and the interaction that it offers.
In Language, we enhance, through experiential activities, oral communication, reading and written expression, aiming at the phonological awareness, while in Mathematics, we help children to apply testing and control experientially, transliterating their experiences into mathematical concepts.
English is taught daily. Through a bilingual program, children simultaneously cultivate their language and communication skills, become familiar with both language codes and enhance understanding and perception skills.
In the framework of the "Life Skills" program, through cross-level actions, we plan and implement activities aimed at raising awareness of Values, related to the development of social and emotional skills, ecology, volunteerism, culture, healthy nutrition & Internet safety. At the same time, we empower children by teaching them how to manage emotions such as anger, frustration, rejection, failure etc., through special actions that enhance their self-confidence and self-esteem.
Children develop their music and music kinetic skills to get a significant sensory-moving experience. The course is given by a specialized music teacher and includes songs, musical themes and introduction to the ORFF orchestra percussion instruments.
Free expression, development of creativity and free imagination are cultivated through visual and artistic activities that promote Art as a means of communication.
Children learn to experiment, to transform themselves, to express their thoughts and feelings, even to find solutions to their everyday problems: They take on roles and responsibilities, make decisions, collaborate and create.
As a complementary tool of education, Technology is supportively integrated into our Kindergarten curriculum using Beebot, iPads, computers and robotics.
Our students experiment with a variety of materials, use laboratory equipment, form hypotheses and, through observation, draw conclusions as young scientists.
Children participate in the following clubs, cultivating their inclinations and interests: Cooking, Theater, Board Games, STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), Robotics, Reggio Inspired (Playing with Nature), Messy and Sensory Play.
