Educational Innovation in our School translates into Special Programs for all ages of our students that broaden their horizons, so that they gain knowledge, develop skills and cultivate values.
… at a glance
Following the principles of our Educational Model, we have designed and implement Special Programs that meet our beliefs: they promote Knowledge, Skills and Values, making the School more Creative, more Enjoyable, more Useful and more Effective.
The "Life Skills" program that has been implemented during the recent years at all levels of our School, includes targeted actions, adapted to the needs of each age group.
Its goal is to increase children’s awareness in six key issues:
- Social and Emotional Development
- Ecology and Environment
- Internet safety
- Volunteerism and Social Contribution
In Primary School, High School and Senior High School, all children have in their school course, as their companion and instructor, their Mentor. The aim of the Mentor is to help students discover the goals they want to set, to identify the necessary steps to achieve them and to form a complete personality with enhanced self-confidence.
The “Healthy Body” program is implemented at all levels of our School with the coordination of the Department of Physical Education and in collaboration with university bodies. Its purpose is to set out a long-term strategy on health issues. Its main pillars are the improvement of children's eating habits, the enhanced opportunities for exercising and the support of students in matters of wellness through specific actions adapted to each age.
Our School has been implementing since 2007 the innovative and pioneering, at Greek and international level, methodology "1:1 Computing - One computer per student" that focuses on the use of technology in the educational process. Our students, from the 3rd grade of Primary School, use the Student Computer every day at school and at home. They become participants in their personal learning while teachers become their partners and mentors, creating experiential and collaborative activities. In this creative learning tool, we have integrated books (our own publications and the ones of the Ministry of Education), rich digital material, interactive applications etc. The Student Computer does not come to replace the book or notebook but is used as an alternative, along with other educational tools and supervisory means. The aim is for our students to develop the appropriate 21st century skills so as to take advantage of the possibilities offered by technology in all areas.
With our Clubs and Teams, we enrich our educational program with a wide range of activities that respond to the inclinations, talents and special skills of each child.
Οur basic educational program in Kindergarten, Primary School and High School, includes the Clubs, which give our students the opportunity to discover new knowledge, inclinations and talents, thanks to experiential and teamworking activities, in many thematic units.
Teams are part of our after school program in the Primary School, the High School and the Senior High School and include a variety of topics and interesting activities for each age group in order to further expand the knowledge and skills of our students.
The Career Counseling Centre (STEP) follows the modern perceptions on issues of “career management” and is staffed by specialized counselors-psychologists, whose aim is to compose the psychological, emotional and educational profile of our students, so as to release their maximum potential and plan with vision the future roles of their lives. The services of the Department, which are based on an evolving and multidimensional approach and are constantly renewed according to the new trends, begin at the 3rd Grade of High School and are completed at the 3rd Grade of Senior High School. Parents have the opportunity to attend individual counseling meetings with the counselors of the Department.
